Again this year, the best new acts from the Welsh lands and beyond will be performing for the 5th edition of Focus Wales, held in the North Welsh town of Wrexham. Plenty of venues, plenty of fun to discover new music, comedy, art and discover the secrets of how to be successful in the music industry today with the interactive panels at the festival.
For the fifth edition, it’s better than ever. Headliners are Mold rockers Joy Formidable, who are fresh from releasing their brand new album Hitch, Leeds’ own trio The Sunshine Underground who will make us ready to dance. Also, Cardiff’s indie poppers Los Campesinos will be part of the party, this will definitely be a special night that shouldn’t be missed since their last album No Blues was released back in 2013.
Regulars will perform in different venues. Think about Baby Brave with their edgy guitars, Blood Lips with their hard rocker souls or the folk pop from singer songwriter Connah Evans, or welsh singing and Gorweilion program new band Swnami.
On the interactive side, we will be able to hear thoughts from legends Peter Hook (he will also perform a dj set) and punk-rocker Viv Albertine formerly from the Slits alongside people from PRS for music, Pop Montreal, BBC, journalists from various papers like Liverpool’s indie Bido Lito! and John Robb, editor from Louder than War (and also Membranes member)
Good news this year! No there won’t be 4 days of music but 5 with the Magic Numbers added on the bill. Stay tuned!
