New Releases of the week…that worths a listen

Standard

As you probably know, hosting a show in Canada makes it really hard to get the stock we want to play, etc…so I’m mostly checking out the Internet and what’s hot on other stations from Europe and ordering stuff from the UK indie shops…Here’s what’s relevant this week for your ears.

Foals-Total Life Forever (Warner)
There is the sophomore album from these Oxford lads. Recorded in Sweden, this album shows us the band evolution…in a good way!

Male Bonding-Nothing Hurts (Sub pop)
Dalston’s is the new cool place. Punk-grunge rockers Male Bonding proved it with Nothing Hurts, their first album on the legendary Sub pop label

TIM AND SAM’S TIM AND THE SAM BAND WITH TIM AND SAM-Life Stream
This is North Wales new sensation Tim and Sam’s debut album, a band to check out if you like aerial folk-pop (ie. bright light bright light, James Yuill…) Discover a couple of tracks on their myspace here http://www.myspace.com/timandsamstimandthesambandwithtimandsam

Unkle-Where did the night fall
Nothing to say more about the talented producer/DJ. Active since the 90’s he comes back with that afrobeat, psych rock, electro like album. A must-own.

We Have Band-WHB
Great electro band, album is out now in Canada (see my own review here)

And specials mentions some new 7” singles releases to
Ash-Insects,
Gold Panda-You,
Blood Red Shoes-Don’t Ask
Television Personalities-You’re My Yoko
