Los Campesinos-Romance is Boring

Already 3 albums and some EPs done for this Welsh band. Recorded in Connecticut, where Pixies already worked, Los Campesinos offered us another piece of art. This album could be described as raw, rock’n’roll and with great harmonies we can stop listening to the title track. Romance is boring album got the catchiest riffs ever. They also self-produced some tracks just as The Sea Is A Good Place To Think O The Future which got great glockenspiel sounds and is smoother than the rest of the album. Los Campesinos produced their best album so far and it’s just a start for the band who are touring North America again… A must-own.

Codeine Velvet Club-Codeine Velvet Club
Codeine Velvet Club is a new project from Glasgow, Scotland. Formed by Lou Hickey and Jon Lawler (aka Jon Fratelli from the Fratellis), this band falls into the world of James Bond, folk pop at its best. We think we’re back in the sixties whilst listening and with Lou Hickey’s vocal it’s total magic. You’re gonna like this album if you’re into Last Shadow Puppets and Jarvis Cocker dandy style. My fav new band from scotland!

Y Promatics-100 diwrnod heb liw
Forget Super Furry Animals or Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci. Brand new Welsh bands are on their way like this one.Hailing from Wales, discovered this band lately (thanks to Beth Elfyn’s by the way) with this first EP entirely sung in Welsh. It’s got great catchy electro-rock beats reminiscing a little bit of We are wolves if you are familiar with this canadian band. It’s the perfect album to put on in some party and to make people dance around.  A great discovery to make.

Ellie Goulding-Lights
First album from newcomer Ellie Goulding, Lights is composed of electro-folk pop. Helped by Frankmusik and Starsmith, she offered great innovative tracks just like her first single ”Starry Eyed”.  She have a charming voice and she’ll probably become the next La Roux or Florence (indeed she’s nominated for Critics Choices at the Brits Awards 2010). Ellie Goulding  writes on her own, having loads of synthpop inspiration, listening to this album is a brand new way to be introduced to folktronica style.
