So, what happened at the Brits 2009? Does our predictions were right? Gotta say there were loads of surprises, so here’s an overview of the winners of the night. The Welsh diva Duffy was definitely the queen of the night. She gets back home with the female solo artist, british breakthrough and the Mastercard-sponsored British album trophies. Deception for Coldplay, kings of the Grammys in America, going home with nothing from that incredible night. Then, our prediction was right for Katy Perry who sweeps the International Female Artist prize and we were right too about Kanye West who won, as we thought, the International Male Solo Artist award. Kings of Leon won both International Group and International album. But the surprises of the night were definitely Paul Weller, considered as the best male british singer, metal-rockers Iron Maiden bringing back home the Best Live Act award and Elbow winning the Best British group trophy. So, loads of surprises and it was also a great night for performances. We lived a real moment of magic when Estelle and the Ting Tings made us revived their 2008’s hits American Boy perfectly mixed with Shut Up and Let Me Go and That’s not my name. Other great moments were U2’s performing Get on Your Boots and Outstanding Contribution to British Music Winners, Pet Shop Boys closing the ceremony. Brits 2009 will be in our memories for long.
